Storyboard

The shot types, lighting, setting and timing is all included in boxes.

Costume

Killer character
The main character's costume consists of a black vest, grey cardigan and blue jeans when inside and then a brown jacket when outside. I have chosen not to put this female character in a dress or skirt as they are supposed to be subtly masculine as they are a killer. The colours of this out fit are not very bright apart from the jacket which is to make the chatacter stand out in the dark.

The homeless character
This characters visual costume consists of a hat and fingerless gloves, the rest of their body is covered by a sleeping bag.

Location

The location for my film changes. The first few scenes start off in the bathroom as it has bright lighting and a large mirror for self reflection. The murder scene takes place in a bedroom as the victim is asleep so the attacker creeps up on her. The last few scenes take place outside in the dark as it gives a eery feel.

Script

The opening scene only has a short amount of dialogue, made up of a voice over and another characters speech.
 Voiceover:
I’ve never really known what’s wrong with me; I’ve just known I wasn’t normal.

Killing was always something I enjoyed; a hobby if you must

A hobby that I’m so good at I’ve never been caught
The second part of speech comes from the homeless person who says:
Have you got any change?
That is the only speech that is in the scenes, however there is a scream but that is digetic sound

Film trailers

As a part of my research into the Horror genre I watched some horror film trailers.

Blair Witch Project

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CZldyEIW5s&feature=related

This trailer is mainly made up of a news item, with some hand held footage at the end. There are mainly high angle shots. The trailer is mainly about the content of the film rather than introducing a storyline or the chracters.

American Psycho
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jVNmgHKweU

This trailer foucses more around the character. It also shows a self-reflection which i aim to include in my opening scene. However this trailer features quite upbeat music which contrasts with the action, if i use music in my opening scenes it would probably be more creepy.

Poltergeist
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxX7TxY_XsM

This trailer includes an aspect of things appearing normal on the outside but within they are anything but, which is an element I aim to include in my opening sequence.

The Shining

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BYwE6PKSiMw

This trailer has limited action and is a voiceover over a backdrop of lift doors, one of which opens to release a lot of blood. The music at the beginning is quite sinister and helps to set the tone of the clip. The use of blood is common in Horror films so I would aim to include it in mine.
